Seafood Progress
Seafood Progress is an online resource for retailers to report on their progress against their sustainable seafood commitments.
It aims to aggregate retailer leverage across Canada to drive further improvements to fisheries and aquaculture practices, both in Canada and abroad.

Year 4 of Seafood Progress found satisfactory improvement across retailers’ commitments to environmental sustainability, but no progress was made on their social responsibility commitments. From 2020 to 2021, there was an 11 per cent improvement in performance over all indicators at national level. See our report and press release for more information.
Seafood Progress assesses retailer sustainable seafood commitments and procurement policies against 23 key performance indicators that reflect the six steps of the Common Vision for Sustainable Seafood, a guiding document outlining the steps businesses should take to develop robust sustainable seafood commitments and programs.
