I am the Executive Director of Living Oceans Society, a non-profit ocean conservation organization founded in the small, northern fishing village of Sointula, British Columbia. I have worked in the environmental movement in B.C. since 1994, when I joined Sierra Legal Defence Fund (now Ecojustice) to practice environmental law, specializing in fisheries and First Nations issues. It was there that I learned about salmon, from First Nations advocates and small-boat fishermen from communities like Sointula, to both of whom salmon are a way of life.

My work with the SeaChoice team includes law and policy reform and focuses mostly on issues related to salmon aquaculture.

I hold a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and a BA from the University of Toronto.
